Suzy's Knitting Journey: Heartfelt Creations for Whānau

Suzy's Knitting Journey: Heartfelt Creations for Whānau

Posted Thursday December 12, 2024

Suzy has been working hard to knit blankets for her whānau, with fantastic support from her key person. She has now finished two beautiful rugs. One is for her brother Bill to use as a knee rug, and the other is for her cousin's child. Bill will be so happy and proud to receive his rug from Suzy.

Suzy's key person has been very helpful in setting up and following through with her goals. They have supported Suzy whenever she needed it. It's been amazing to see Suzy's goals come to life, and we are all excited to see what she creates next.

This week, I returned Suzy's two new knitted knee rugs after sewing them together. Suzy was thrilled with the finished products. The full-size knee rug is for Bill, so a part of Suzy is always with him. The smaller baby blanket, with pastel colours and crochet teddy bears, is for her cousin's new baby in Wellington. We will wrap it up and send it off soon.

Suzy is now planning to make blankets for Patrick and Kath for Christmas. We can't wait to see her future creations!
